• Work/life balance!Job DetailsJob Details:We are currently seeking a highly skilled Permanent Journeyman Roofer to join our dynamic construction team. This role requires a professional with an exceptional ability to work with a variety of roofing systems and materials. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of experience in the construction industry, specifically in roofing. The Journeyman Roofer will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining roofs on various types of buildings using a variety of materials, including shingles and felt.Responsibilities:
  • Inspect problem roofs to determine the best repair procedures.
  • Remove old roofing materials.
  • Install vapor barriers and layers of insulation on the roof boards and surfaces.
  • Install new roofing materials, such as shingles, slate, asphalt, aluminum, wood, and related materials, such as waterproof roof coatings and roof flashing.
  • Cut roofing paper and shingles into strips and shapes for fitting into valleys, vents and ridge caps.
  • Cover roofs with layers of roofing felt or asphalt strips before installing tile, slate, or composition materials.
  • Set up scaffolding to provide safe access to roofs.
  • Estimate materials and labor required to complete roofing jobs.
  • Maintain tools and equipment, keeping them in good working condition.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures, ensuring a safe work environment at all times.
  • Work on both low-slope and steep-slope roofs in residential and commercial settings.Qualifications:
    • 3+ years of experience as a Journeyman Roofer or in a similar role within the construction industry.
    • In-depth knowledge of various roofing systems and materials, including shingles, felt, and vapor barriers.
    • Proficient in using various roofing tools and equipment, such as hammers, knives, and roofing squares.
    • Excellent physical stamina with the ability to lift heavy materials and tools, climb ladders, and work at heights.
    • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify issues and implement effective solutions.
    • Exceptional attention to detail, ensuring the highest quality of work at all times.
    • Ability to work effectively in a team, demonstrating strong communication and collaboration skills.
    • Excellent time management skills with the ability to complete projects within stipulated deadlines.
    • Understanding of safety protocols and procedures within the construction industry.
    • Certified Journeyman Roofer or equivalent is required.
    • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
