Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: Utilization Review - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 02/23/2026 - Duration: 8 weeks - 40 hours per week - Shift: 8 hours, days - Employment Type: Local Contract Remote Registered Nurse – Utilization Review Pay Rate: $45/hour on W2 Start Date: February 23, 2026 Contract Length: 8 weeks Schedule: Day Shift | Monday–Friday Hours: 5x8s | 40 hours per week Shift Time: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM Work Environment: 100% Remote Key Responsibilities - Perform utilization review for inpatient, observation, and extended hospital outpatient services - Review clinical documentation to determine medical necessity and appropriate level of care - Apply InterQual criteria consistently and accurately (hard requirement) - Manage utilization review processes for a variety of adult and pediatric acute and chronic diagnoses - Collaborate with physicians, care managers, and interdisciplinary teams - Ensure compliance with Medicare regulations and payer-specific requirements - Document determinations and actions clearly within Epic Special Procedures / Unit Details - Department is 100% remote - Supports multiple service lines and levels of care, including inpatient, observation, and extended hospital outpatient - High-volume, fast-paced utilization management environment Required Qualifications (Hard Stops) - Active Registered Nurse license (CA) - InterQual experience required – hard stop - Epic proficiency required – recent use within the last 6–12 months - Minimum 3 years of acute care Care Manager or Utilization Review experience in a hospital setting - Experience must be hospital-based (not health plan or medical group) Additional Required Experience - Experience working with HMOs, IPAs, and managed care payers - Strong working knowledge of Medicare regulations and UM-related processes, including: - CC44s - ABNs - HINNs - MCSNs - Excellent clinical judgment, critical thinking, and documentation skills Benefits - $45/hour competitive pay - Weekly direct deposit - Dedicated recruiter and compliance support Why This Assignment - Fully remote utilization review role - Stable weekday schedule - Exposure to diverse patient populations and service lines - Short-term contract with efficient onboarding Apply today to be considered.
