Medical Coder / Reimbursement Rep
Physician Claims -
(Remote/Southern CA Residents Only)

Description
Outstanding opportunity a with major Southern CA-based health system providing Medical Coding and Reimbursement Support to multi-specialty physician group. -

• 
  
• Review charges for coding accuracy
  
• Communicate with clients coding improvements
  
• Answer client emails and provide coding support as necessary
  
• Perform coding audits and reimbursement
  
• Create and draft appeals based on coding and medical necessity
  
• Contact insurance companies, and other third-party payers regarding claims status and payment, via telephone and written correspondence according to established standards.
  
• Respond to inquiries and correspondence from insurance companies, patients, and other third-party payers in a professional and timely manner.
  
• Re-file and re-bill claims as necessary, ensuring that all information contained on the claim is accurate and complete.
  
• Review and process denials from insurance companies, process for further review, identifying and initiating appeals as needed.
  
• Audit accounts for any necessary corrections, including updating coverage information.
  
• Maintain working knowledge of current procedural terminology, diagnosis codes, and insurance payer policies.
  
• Provide professional and courteous service to all customers
  
• Communicate effectively in written and verbal form
  
• Maintain complete patient/employer confidentiality at all times per company and HIPAA requirements
  
  Requirements
  
  
  • 
    
  • Minimum two (2) years' experience in Physician billing and collections required
    
  • Experience coding and collecting on multi-speciality Physician claims required -
    
  • Experience with physician -OB/GYN, Orthopedic and Vascular claims highly preferred -
    
  • Proficiency in Medicare, Medicare Advantage and Commercial Payors and their guidelines required
    
  • General knowledge of medical terminology and ICD-9/ICD-10 coding
    
  • Experience using NextGen and EPIC systems highly preferred
    
  • MS Office proficiency required
    
  • Certified Professional Coder Required -
    
  • High school graduate or GED equivalent required
