Emphasis is on performing skills for a patient who is hemodynamically unstable or who requires specialized nursing care and monitoring equipment. The Registered Nurse/RN is responsible for total care of their assigned patient(s) for the entire shift. The Critical Care Registered Nurse follows established guidelines by the AACN in accordance with hospital and unit policies and procedures.
