We currently operate Sup Noodle Bar (Buena Park and Irvine), Vox Kitchen (Fountain Valley), Gem Dining (Fountain Valley), Dave's Hot Chicken (Fountain Valley), and The Alley (Fountain Valley, Irvine, Las Vegas, and Hawaii) with more on the way Kei Concepts is working towards a goal of building a strong restaurant system where the plate showcases culinary skills and the service is always welcoming. www.keiconcepts.info THE IDEAL CANDIDATE The Assistant General Manager will support the General Manager coordinating, directing and planning everyday business operations. The Assistant General Manager is a team builder and helps provide support and direction alongside the General Manager to ensure the operations of the business run smoothly. The Assistant Manager will oversee and coordinate the planning, organizing, training and leadership necessary to achieve stated objectives in sales, costs, employee retentions, guest service and satisfaction, food quality, cleanliness and sanitation. Will be required to work within the budget to complete tasks listed below. Other duties may be assigned as business needs require. RESPONSIBILITIES: Assistant General Manager: Communicate to their immediate supervisor when additional training guidance and practice is needed Ensure that shift schedules are organized for Team Members and monitor/coach attendance, tardiness and time off Understand how each job responsibility impacts guests, employees, and overall restaurant operations Ensure Supervisors, Shift Leaders, & Team Members work together with their co-workers to prepare food and beverages while following cooking instructions, safety procedures, and sanitary requirements Ensure store cleanliness is conducted daily by delegating the clearing of tables, sweeping and mopping floors, washing/sanitizing/disinfecting kitchen utensils and high touch-point areas, and servicing restrooms Handle guests--- concerns and complaints professionally and calmly to resolve problems according to restaurant policy Maintain a neat and tidy appearance by wearing a uniform and adhering to the uniform policy Are performance-oriented and performance driven; understand performance expectations and are aware of performance results Provide direction/supervision/feedback for Supervisors, Shift Leaders & Team Members to maintain levels of high productivity and team morale Communicate teamwork performance to the General Manager and appropriately address performance issues Balance cash drawers and prepare cash deposits Hire, train, schedule and manage employees in daily tasks Manage purchasing, inventory, maintenance and other operational functions Develop strategies for better workplace efficiency and goal achievement Serve as acting General Manager (GM) when the GM is away Abide and enforce to the rules and direction given by the General Manager Effectively plan, organize, and implement all daily operational routines and activities with the management team Ensure all required administrative duties and daily paperwork including required checklists are completed Ensure and/or opening activities are completed Establish an environment of trust to ensure honest, open, and direct communication Role model and set a positive example for the entire team in all aspects of business and personnel practices Follow all company guidelines for food and cash controls; follow all cost control guidelines to maintain and minimize restaurant costs; properly uses all products, supplies, and equipment facilities Ensure that they and all the team abide by company policies and directives Support the goals, decisions, and directives of the General Manager and is not insubordinate Contribute to the restaurant---s success by accomplishing the expected work during each shift consistently Communicate effectively with Supervisors, Shift Leaders, Team Members and to resolve any interpersonal issues as needed Assistant Manager: Understand completely all policies, procedure, standards, specifications, guidelines and training programs. Ensure that all guests feel welcome and are given responsive, friendly, and courteous service at all time. Ensure that all food and products are consistently prepared and served according to the restaurant---s recipes, portioning, cooking and serving standards. Achieve company objectives in sales, service, quality, appearance of facility and sanitation and cleanliness through training of employees and creating a positive, productive working environment. Control cash and other receipts by adhering to cash handling and reconciliation procedures in accordance with restaurant policies and procedures. Make employment and termination decision consistent with General Manager guidelines for approvals or review. Fill in where needed to ensure guest service standards and efficient operations Any additional tasks that you are asked to perform REQUIREMENTS: Assistant General Manager: Manager ServSafe mandatory Be able to communicate and understand the predominant language(s) of the store---s trading area. Have knowledge of service and food and beverage, generally involving at least 6 months of front-of-the-house operations. Possess excellent basic math skills and have the ability to operate a cash register or POS system. Knowledge of basic sanitation requirements and food handling safety standards Certifications as required to comply with local, state and health codes, i.e., food safety and alcohol awareness Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 5 hours). Be able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 70 pounds. Be able to carry and serve hot dishes up to 210F. Must have the stamina to work 60 to 70 hours per week. A minimum of three shifts a week required.
