Lead Venture Architect - (The Boston Consulting Group, Inc. -
Manhattan Beach, California): Lead a cross-functional team to define the
business cases and economic models for new ventures that deliver digital
products. Coordinate strategic due diligence, perform product development
studies, evaluate long term digital solution investment opportunities,
develop viable go-to-market plans for digital business solutions, and
execute the commercialization of venture builds and product launches.
Specific duties include: analyze start-up deal flow to understand imminent
disruptions and identify tech acceleration opportunities; establish key
performance indicators for venture outcomes; define the business model
options and develop the economic model for new ventures, products and
services; test and validate assumptions while creating a sensitivity analysis
for key drivers; assess internal capabilities and capacities to develop
a sourcing strategy; quantify business value and funding models; define the
commercial launch and go-to-market strategy; create the framing report for
new initiatives; collaborate with the Strategic Design and Product
Development leads, as well as clients, to define a minimum viable business
build (or product/service); plan and deliver new ventures, products and
services; mobilize new venture models by defining the target state,
commercial partnership construct and success criteria; adopt a lean
start-up approach to building a minimum viable business and go-to-market strategy;
define the investment business case and outline key performance,
measurement and reporting frameworks; explore and define commercial partnership
options with the client; implement an early feedback loop to enable
continuous feedback, learning and iteration for ventures, products and
services; monitor and report key business and customer success measures to
clients; foster an environment of innovation and customer centricity, institutionalizing agile innovation practices and a customer
insight to action culture; contribute to business development ahead of, as
well as throughout, client engagements; create intellectual property,
points of view and industry/topic platforms; contribute to the development
of thought leadership across a range of emerging business, technology and
design topics; and design and facilitate co-creation sessions with
multi-disciplinary client disciplinary client teams. Requires a Bachelor’s degree in
business administration, engineering management, computer science,
information technology, or related field (willing to accept foreign
education equivalent) plus four (4) years of experience performing
business strategy and advisory work for technology companies which must include
experience performing strategic design and business planning for
start-ups. Alternatively, will accept a Master's degree in business
administration, engineering management, computer science, information
technology, or related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent)
and two (2) years of experience performing business strategy and advisory
work for technology companies which must include experience performing
strategic design and business planning for start-ups. Specific
skills/other requirements (quantitative experience requirements not
applicable to this section) – must possess the following: (i) corporate strategy
development, business development and partnership management; (ii) business
planning and business modeling; (iii) market and industry research and
Go-to-market planning and execution; (iv) design thinking and future
visioning; (v) venture structuring and financing and investment case
calculation; (vi) organizational design and hiring planning; (vii) product
design, prototyping and testing; (viii) investment presentation and
board reporting; and (ix) pricing analytic. Domestic/international
travel (up to 50%) required based on company/client need. Must have
unrestricted authorization to work in U.S. M-F, 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. 45+
